What affects the price

The final cost of a wood fireplace setup depends on your specific home requirements. Generally, custom masonry work or stone veneers increase labor costs, while choosing a pre-fabricated insert can be more budget-friendly. You will also need to consider the complexity of the chimney installation or venting modifications needed to meet local codes. Adding features like glass doors, blowers, or decorative mantels will also shift your total. We can provide you with exact pricing confirmed free on the call.

About this service

The best wood for your fireplace is seasoned hardwood, such as oak, maple, or ash. These woods are dense and have been dried for at least six to twelve months to reduce moisture content. You need to use seasoned wood because wet or 'green' wood creates excess smoke, builds up dangerous creosote in your chimney, and produces very little heat. Always store your wood in a dry, elevated area to ensure it stays ready for your next fire.

Summer is the best time to handle structural upgrades or repairs. Since you aren't relying on the fireplace for heat, contractors can easily access your chimney and hearth without disrupting your daily routine. Booking these service calls now keeps you ahead of the autumn rush when everyone decides to fix their fireplaces at once.
